Industry News: Flickr Spares CC Pics, Launched "In Memoriam" Accounts

Since being acquired by SmugMug, Flickr has announced some a number of changes, including a 1,000-image limit for Free accounts, with all the excess photos being deleted. Now, notes DIY Photography, Flickr has announced that all Creative Commons images will be protected from the deletion. Flickr has, however, disabled its bulk license change tools to prevent members from simply flipping all their images to a new license, adds DP Review. Flickr also introduced locked “in memoriam” accounts to preserve content in a deceased member’s account.
