The Brodner View

By Peggy Roalf   Tuesday November 8, 2016

As I sat down to post this page, it was just 10 hours until the polls would open here in OFC. And it’s funny how my barely contained revulsion about politics this year has turned into a kind of mild feeling of regret that’s almost-but-not-quite nostalgic. So I'll plan to hit the polling place early enough to get my authentic “I Voted” sticker.

But that’s tomorrow. Today, for your viewing pleasure, is Steve Brodner’s view of the recent past just so you remember: every four years, it always gets pretty strange between Halloween and Thanksgiving. And BTW, do you think SNL checked this out [above] before running the last Hillary-and-Donald skit on Saturday?

So get out and vote tomorrow, if you haven't already! I hope your candidate wins! [artwork courtesy Steve Brodner and PoliticoAbove: The (still) secret Trump wedding photo that could have saved America. Steve Brodner | LA Times

After getting his BFA at  Cooper Union in 1976 Steve Brodner became editorial cartoonist at The Hudson Dispatch, in Union City, New Jersey. In 1977 Steven Heller, protean art director of The New York Times Book Review, began tapping him for illustration assignments. Eventually Brodner realized he could survive nicely just doing this without ever having a real job. This is called Freelance Illustration. To this day he is still confused about how this works.
