Legend has it that a young woman from a tribe in the Amazon was so infatuated by the Moon that she would chase it at night, climbing up hills in hopes of turning into a star and follow it into the skies. One night however, the young woman saw the reflection of the moon in the river, and reached for it ultimately drowning. The moon recognizing her sacrifice, transformed the young woman into a different type of star, the Vitória-Régia, the star of the waters.

Women are a heavy focus in this series, one series is featuring women of past future in present, from an Old flame to the ideal Golden Girl. The secondary concept is entitled Astro Pin Up, featuring each planet as a female. The over all series is to encapsulate the feminine energy on land & space.
Dissociation is experienced as a feeling of intense unreality, where the person loses their sense of who and where they are, as well as what they're doing. It can feel as if the person is watching themselves perform from a distance, and is often a response to unresolved trauma.

An abandoned train car sits in a field of cacti (nopales), waiting for anyone in the sunset. Based on an actual abandoned train car I've passed by many times over the years in my home town. I've always wondered how it got there and where it came from. Painted in Adobe Photoshop.
This illustration is based on a childhood picture I found some time ago and also on my mother's constant reminder that I had always been a temperamental child. I enjoy depicting angry, demanding, assertive and bossy kids to homage annoying relatives, constantly asking me if I was sad or angry.

Exploring a Mexican love story, this celebration of the ‘Alley of the Kiss’ revels in the colorful houses of Guanajuato. The architecture and landscape work in tandem to shape the two lovers sharing a kiss, silhouetted against the pink sky and festive bunting.
