What Remains
Living in the border has made us witnesses to the devastation of the individual that occurs today. These contemporary still lives speak of an ephemeral world that forces us to rediscover the journey of the migrant, a resisting hero of our time trapped between two increasingly cruel worlds.
The immigrant’s journey is one of those that manage to turn fragility into heroism. The series we are presenting challenges the spectator to witness a battle where every object is then turned into a life or death situation. It is necessary to realize that thousands of lives depend on a bag with everyday use objects, objects that have attained a sense of resistance, courage and strength but also uncertainty, dispossession, tragedy and cruelty. Furthermore, these objects obtain a spiritual hue that connects them to their origin.
