Sicurí
Sicurí. The night opens before the beings of water, entering the breath, the fear and the tense calm of the inhabitants of the Bolivian Chiquitanía. One of its greatest legends is the Jichi or Sicurí: the endemic anaconda; owner of the waters and the stars, giver of life, goddess of fertility. She becomes a woman and steals the soul with the eyes of those who dare to attack nature.
Sicurí: you control the fire and hide in the moon. You leave those who invade you in ashes, those who do not respect you.
He disappeared in one of those wet and muddy places that emerged in the region. There was silence. At dusk the inhabitants discovered how that swamp was now a lagoon of clear and bright water: the girl had transformed into Sicurí, the protective spirit of the waters, forests, stars. That is when the spirit manifests, the night arrives and the Sicuri leaves.
