Miss Black USA. February 2018. An assignment for Lifetime Networks, Her America is digital content documenting the lives of 50 women across 50 states. Examining the opinionated woman, I had the opportunity to photograph Miss Black USA Pageant and Contestant Saidah Grimes who represents the state of Maryland. Miss Black USA provides a platform for women of color to break stereotypes promoting scholarly achievements; a dedication to community service; while showcasing talent and beauty.
