"The Distance Between Us"

When I arrive home I head to Nick's room. We haven't been able to talk or spend any time together lately because he's had a cramp each time I visit. One from The Distance Between Us, January 2010, a series on the photographer's twin brother who suffers from cerebral palsy. The time I spend with him, looking through my camera has forced me to ask questions about suffering, and faith and why anyone is born with disease.

In November 2009, he under went Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery (DBS). For the first time, our family held out hope that things would improve for him.
