Students create illustration work for a book jacket, poem, movie, or dramatic piece - illustration plus hand lettering. Students choose a literary subject, with the instructor’s approval, to interpret.
Students should employ the use of the semiotic categories of icon-index-symbol to convey meaning, as well as consider how the graphic feeling and form convey the underlying emotional tones of the text. One main image, plus secondary illustrations.
