Hegel’s Owl of Minerva
The owl of Minerva spreads its wings only with the falling of the dusk” (Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel). People look to Philosophers to predict the future but they can only make insights when looking at the past.
When Berlin was bombed during WW2 many of the local Tawny owls flooded from the parks into abandoned rubble buildings to survive. Forging new habitats and homes when they had lost what was familiar to them.
11x17” two layer Risograph print composited from Ink wash paintings.
