On my first summer trip to Cape Cod, my friend Tommy and I pilgrimaged to Edward Hopper house on Fisher Beach. On the walk back, Tommy dropped his ring' a gift from his Nonna' in the water. I illustrated him bent over, tiny against the setting sun and the sea, searching impossibly. He found it.
