Chalk Eggs for Michigan: Faberge, the Rise and Fall
Chalk Eggs for Michigan: Faberge, the Rise and Fall, November 2012, Detroit Institute of the Arts, two from a series of five illustrated sculpture-installations based on Peter Karl Faberge's original ornate jeweled eggs. Each design represents a different facet of the economy of the State of Michigan circa Faberge's peak design period, those being copper and iron mining, Great Lakes shipping and aquaculture, timber and forestry, and agriculture and automotive manufacturing. Depicted here is the water egg.
