Spotlight: Andrew Fladaboe's "The Shepherd's Realm"

Andrew Fladoboe   Tuesday August 19, 2014

Rhode Island-based fine-art photographer Andrew Fladaboe has been traveling around the globe to explore the central role that dogs play aiding human life in agrarian regions. A RISD grad, Fladoboe is currently in New Zealand on a Fulbright Scholarship, but he recently spent three months in Norway, where he created his series “The Shepherd’s Realm.” The heroic images, which primarily focus on native dog breeds, draw from the tradition of British animal portraiture, including the 18th-century paintings of George Stubbs and the 19th-century canvasses of Edwin Landseer, notes Peter Hay Halpert Fine Art. Go here for more on Fladaboe’s current Fulbright work.   Read the full Story >>
