Passings: Eva Sereny, Who Photographed Film Stars at Work, Dies at 86

Eva Sereny, who spent decades as a photographer on movie sets around the world — among the stars she photographed were Marlon Brando, Meryl Streep, Vanessa Redgrave, Robert De Niro, Jacqueline Bisset, Clint Eastwood, Audrey Hepburn, Sean Connery and Harrison Ford — died on May 25 in a hospital near her home in London. She was 86, notes The New York Times. It was on the set of Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1972 erotic drama Last Tango in Paris that she overcame Brando’s distrust of photographers. Books: He Captured the Birth of Hip Hop

It was his way of communicating with people, moving between different South Bronx cliques, notes The New Yorker. At the time, a new music and music scene was taking root in the neighborhood: Conzo began documenting everything he saw. Drone News: You Must Pass the FAA's TRUST Test to Legally Fly a Drone in the U.S.

The Federal Aviation Administration has released its TRUST test, a free online training program to certify that pilots understand the rules of drone flight. All pilots, event those who operate a drone for recreation, are required to take the Recreational UAS Safety Test, otherwise known as TRUST, notes PetaPixel. Honor Roll: Portrait Photographer of the Year Winners

Forough Yavari, a portrait and fine-art photographer from Brisbane, Australia, is the overall winner of the inaugural International Portrait Photographer of the Year competition for a creative self-portrait that, notes DIY Photography, shows “great skill in both photography and editing.” The new competition, which comes from the organizers of the International Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, received 948 submissions from portrait photographers around the world.   Read the full Story >>
