Honor Roll: Magnum Foundation Fund Announces New Grant Winners

The Magnum Foundation Fund, which replaces the Emergency Fund program, will support image-makers who are pushing to “expand the parameters of documentary photography.” This year’s selection of grantees, announced recently, are Mari Bastashevski, Marko Drobnjakovic, Carlo Gabuco, Daniel Castro Garcia, Eduardo Hirose, Nneka Iwunna, Mimi Cherono Ng’ok, Musuk Nolte, Alessandra Sanguinetti and Faiham Ebna Sharif. The winners of the Open and National categories of the 2017 Sony World Photo Awards have been announced, and you can see them at the World Photography Organization website. This year's contest attracted 227,596 entries from 183 countries. Among the winners is Russian photographer Alexander Vinogradov’s portrait of model Anastasiya Marinina (Open category) and Panamanian photographer Jonatan Banista’s close-up of an iguana (National).
