hile planning her May 2 wedding, Mia Chard made sure to pay tribute to her late father in a number of ways. She decided, for instance, to bring his vintage Rolleiflex Twin Lens Reflex camera to the wedding to record events. Without realizing it, Mia used film that already had pictures from a family event that occurred in 1999. With a career now spanning well over four decades, Swiss photographer Michel Comte has achieved a notable status. “Though many of his images, particularly those of celebrities and fashion, have become iconic in their own right…what emerges is a testament to the prevailing preoccupations and concerns of an era, and a study of what it means to be human,” proclaims Artnet. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has announced a new “Click to Cancel” ruler aimed at helping consumers cancel subscriptions much more easily. The rule will come into effect on October 1, notes PetaPixel. After that, NYC residents will be able to file complaints against businesses that fail to comply. At a press conference, former Federal Trade Commission chair Lina Khan specifically mentioned Adobe executives who have admitted that their early termination fees had become “a form of revenue they just couldn’t quit.” Read the full Story >>

The book Madonna: Into the Groove (due in October) features images of the Queen of Pop from 1985 made by photographer Ken Regan as she emerged as a global icon. The photos capture Madonna in the studio and a hotel bedroom, working out at the gym, and performing onstage, notes Rolling Stone. Regan was one of the most prolific and sought after photographers of the period— his musical subjects include Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, and Bob Dylan.
