Memory cards are pricey these days (thank you, AI). So, notes PetaPixel,  it makes sense that photographers and videographers want to rely on as few of them as possible without sacrificing data security or performance. Luke Lv, who runs the UK-based video production studio lümira, has developed an app called Stow that aims to help creators know when their cards are properly backed up and safe to wipe. Exhibitions: An Ode to 'The English Cathedral'

Acclaimed British photographer Peter Marlow (1952-2016) was known for his journalistic attention to people and happenings in conflict zones and political interactions. But throughout his career, he also embarked on numerous personal documentary projects, including his series “The English Cathedral," which focused on 42 Anglican cathedrals across England. The work, notes Colossal, is on view through August 31 at Southwark Cathedral, which has roots dating back at least to the 11th century and is the oldest Gothic church in London.   Read the full Story >>

Honor Roll: Mangrove Photography Awards 2026

Indian photographer Gaurav Patil is the top winner of the 2026 Mangrove Photography Awards for his photo of a ghost fishing net glowing beneath ultraviolet light as it hangs tangled in a mangrove on the coast of Maharashtra, south of Mumbai. Made using a 13-second UV exposure, the haunting image shows how such discarded nets turn mangrove areas— vital coastal barriers—into hidden garbage hotspots, notes the BBC.  “I have been watching ghost nets getting trapped in mangroves for the last several years, Patil noted.   Read the full Story >>
