Tech News: Adobe Premiere's New Features Will Keep You Out of After Effects

Adobe has announced new features for its Premiere Pro video editor that, notes DP Review, could make it much easier to achieve effects that previously would have required specialized compositing software. Among the new tools is one called Object Masks, which lets you select an object, such as a person or product, in the video. Premiere will then use AI to detect the edges and create a mask for it, separating it from the background so you can apply effects or transitions to each part of your video, independently.   Read the full Story >>

Books: Brian Finke's 'Bike Life'

Starting in 2020, photographer Brian Finke joined and documented New York City's cult Bike Life community. “The scene is predominantly composed of young adults and teens from diverse backgrounds and genders from all over the city who express a creative language and personal style through bike tricks—wheelies, swerving, dancing, and surfing,” Brooklyn-based publisher Blurring Books notes at the Kickstarter page for the new book Bike Life, which brings together Finke’s images.   Read the full Story >>
