On Nov. 12 there will be a live Projections event at Adorama in New York City (42 W. 18th Street) featuring, appropriately, two New York photographers, Beth Galton and William Vazquez. Galton will present her series “Memory of Absence,” exploring “the fragile nature of memory, and the layered emotions found within family dynamics.” Vazquez will present his series “Find the Joy,” showcasing the universal capacity for happiness. Passings: Ukrainian Photographer Kostiantyn Huzenko, 28, Killed in Action

Photographer Kostiantyn Huzenko, who documented the war in Ukraine and enlisted the 35th Marine Brigade in April 2024, was killed Nov. 1 in a Russian strike in eastern Ukraine, reports the Kyiv Independent. He was 28. Before joining the Ukrainian armed forces, Huzenko also worked as a media producer and podcaster. He worked with Ukrainer, a multilingual non-profit media organization sharing stories about Ukraine, helping to document stories from territories liberated from Russian occupation after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.   Read the full Story >>

On Thursday, with several pharmaceutical executives in the Oval Office for an announcement about drug prices, one of the guests collapsed on the floor. Reporters and camera operators were quickly ushered out of the room, but not before Getty Images photographer Andrew Harnik got the photo of the week: a shot of President Trump standing at his desk, seemingly unaware of what had just transpired.
