Morrison Hotel Gallery has announced the addition of the Douglas Kirkland Archive to its roster of world-renowned photographers. Kirkland, who died in 2022, is known for his intimate portraits of luminaries such as Marilyn Monroe, Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, and Leonardo DiCaprio, made across a legendary six-decade career. With the addition of his archive, Morrison Hotel Gallery says it is widening the lens of its curatorial focus beyond music to embrace iconic works that have shaped the broader cultural canon.    Read the full Story >>

Honor Roll: Wildlife Photographer of the Year 'Highly Commended,' 2025

Wildlife Photographer of the Year   Thursday September 4, 2025

Selected from a record 60,636 entries, the “Highly Recommended” images from the Natural History Museum’s wildlife photographer of the year competition have been released. “The photographs, which range from a lion facing down a cobra to magnified mould spores, show the diversity, beauty and complexity of the natural world and humanity’s relationship with it,” notes The Guardian. For the first time in 37 years, there is a new editor of American Vogue. Anna Wintour surrendered the job that, notes The New York Times, transformed her into a titan of fashion and publishing, and handpicked a successor—Chloe Malle, the 39-year-old editor of Vogue’s website and co-host of its podcast, Rather than editor, though, Malle's new title is  “head of editorial content” — a sign of how much the magazine business has changed since Vogue established itself as fashion’s monthly print bible, adds The Times.   Read the full Story >>

The star of the annual Visa pour l’Image photojournalism festival in Perpignan, France, is the exhibition “Jean-Pierre Laffont, Photographer Unchained,” declares Eye of Photography. “His career began during the Algerian War, but it was in the United States that Jean-Pierre Laffont established himself as a key French photojournalist.
