Astrophotography: What to See This Month in the Night Sky

It’s another month of opportunities for night-sky photographers, notes DIY Photography: the sixth full moon of 2025, aka the strawberry moon, will appear on June 11. And on the early morning of June 23 a crescent moon will come close to Pleiades, an open star cluster located in the constellation Taurus, The event can be captured with a wide or mid-telephoto lens (50mm – 135mm) along with the landscape while these two rise in the eastern sky, adds DIYP. Or you wait for a few minutes and let the scene rise in the sky and then use a telephoto lens (200mm – 600mm) to isolate both objects. Industry News: Getty Images Is Spending Millions in AI Suit

Getty Images is spending “millions and millions of dollars” on its legal case against Stability AI, Getty’s CEO Craig Peters tells CNBC. Getty is suing Stability AI, which is behind popular text-to-image model Stable Diffusion, in both the U.K. and U.S. over allegations that it copied 12 million images without permission or compensation. AI firms are taking copyrighted material to develop their powerful AI models under the guise of innovation and then “just turning those services right back on existing commercial markets,” Peters says.   Read the full Story >>

Exhibitions: Celebrating the Polaroid as an Object

London’s Webber Gallery  is taking a decidedly tactile approach to celebrate the wondrous Polaroid image in the exhibition “Polaroids, Small Prints and Ephemera" (on view through June 26).
