The Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas, has announced the appointment of Charles Wylie as Curator of Photography. The position has been vacant since September 2023, when Senior Curator of Photography John Rohrbach retired, notes Glasstire. Since 2016, Wylie has served as the inaugural Curator of Photography and New Media at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in California. He previously served as the Dallas Museum of Art’s Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art.

The CPW—formerly the known as The Center for Photography at Woodstock—has announced the recipients of its 2025 CPW Vision Awards, which honor people who have made a significant impact on photography. Artist Sally Mann receives the Lifetime Achievement Award for her work exploring family, memory, and the American South, notes Digital Camera World. Mann recently was in the new when police in Texas seized her images from an exhibition at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The case was recently dropped.

AP photographer and top White House correspondent Evan Vucci testified in court last Thursday that the news organization has struggled to compete in its coverage of the Trump presidency since White House’s decision to limit its access to presidential events, the Oval Office and Air Force One, notes CNN. The news service is challenging the ban on both First Amendment free speech and Fifth Amendment due process grounds, adds Mediaite. Trump called for the ban because AP did not recognize his declaration that the Gulf of Mexico henceforth be called the Gulf of America.
