Get ready for the last supremoon of 2024, which will light up the night sky on Nov. 15. Two decades ago Greenpeace asked photographer Christian Åslund to document how glaciers in Sweden’s Svalbard archipelago were melting due to global heating, using photographs taken in the early 20th century as a frame of reference. The difference in ice density between those two periods, as shown in Åslund images, was staggering. This past summer, notes The Guardian, Åslund visited those same places in Svalbard again. Apple has been debuting some new Macs, including a redesigned Mac Mini that, notes The Verge, is more powerful and yet also “so damn small.” The new Mac Mini has a footprint less than half the size of its predecessor, measuring just five by five inches, features Apple’s latest M4 silicon, and ships with 16GB of RAM by default.
