According to the Colorado Public Interest Research Foundation, in just the last five years, the number of large satellites in low earth orbit has increased 12 times, with thousands more expected in the next few years. Now, notes CBS News, Colorado scientists and night sky photographers are calling for more responsible use of satellites, while some 120 space researchers are urging the FCC to study satellite mega-constellations, including SpaceX's Starlink. Night-sky photographers complain that the satellite constellations ruin their images.

In a new video he offers five tips for keeping your business secure. For instance, he says, you should focus on providing a “human-centered” photographic experience, because being human is still one thing AI can’t do. You should also find a niche within the headshot niche—Coco focuses on musicians—to set yourself apart.

International Pet Photography Awards Wednesday November 27, 2024
Dutch photographer Janneke De Graaf has won the top prize in the 2024 International Pet Photographer of the Year competition for her portfolio of images of Basenji dogs, which, notes My Modern Met, is her favorite subject (she owns four). Now in its sixth edition, the photo contest — the world’s largest pet photography contest, notes MMM — drew in 3,621 entries from 41 countries. For the first time, an equine category honored photographers who specialize in this sub-genre of pet photography.
