Lexar’s 1TB CFexpress 4.0 Type B Diamond series memory card is “blazing-fast” and now availablel for $1,000, notes PetaPixel. The new card offers up to 3,700 MB/s read and 3,400 MB/s write speeds, provided the user has a CFexpress 4.0 device to take full advantage of all that performance. While CFexpress 4.0-equipped cards are much faster for transferring to a computer using a compatible card reader, no camera yet takes advantage of CFexpress 4.0 technology, adds PP.

British photographer Steph Wilson is the winner of the 2024 Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize for her portrait “Sonam,” which The Guardian describes as “an unexpectedly masculine image of motherhood.” The photo’s subject, Sonam, sits with her legs sprawled as her baby clings to her chest. She also has a direct and unsmiling gaze, close-cut hair and a mustache. Wilson met Sonam through Instagram after asking for atypical mothers willing to be photographed, as part of a larger project called "Ideal Mother."

TikTok, the Chinese-owned app set to be banned in the United States in two and a half months, is hoping that President-elect Donald J. Trump come to the rescue, notes The New York Times. During this year’s campaign, Trump made various promises to stop the ban, and now Trump’s team says he will “deliver” on those promises, though, adds The Times, “the details are hazy.” Trump’s support for TikTok would be “a stunning reversal from 2020, when he tried to block the app in the United States and force its sale to American companies,” notes The Times.
