Only one in four registered voters have strong confidence in their ability to tell the difference between real and AI-generated visual content, according to new research. Responses to a poll on artificial intelligence in politics done by UK-based research firm Savanta also showed broad concerns among both Democrats and Republicans with AI’s influence over elections, notes The Guardian. Republican voters were less confident than Democrats in spotting AI deepfakes, the poll showed. Republicans were also more likely than Democrats to say it was not acceptable for political candidates to post AI-generated content without clearly labeling it.

To explain film aspect ratios, the Stand-up Maths YouTube channel needed to “go back to a time when videos were actually filmed on film,” offering what may be the first YouTube video ever shot on 35mm film. The reason no one else has done this before? Shooting on film is expensive, for one thing. The video “is not only interesting because it clearly demonstrates what filming with 35mm film looks like, but it also describes different formats and explains how anamorphic lenses work on film,” notes Fstoppers.
