States of the Art: Google's 'Ask Photos' AI Feature Makes It Easier to Dig Through Your Pics

Recently detailed at Google’s latest I/O conference,  the upcoming “Ask Photos” feature could make it much easier to search through albums in Google Photos, notes Gixmodo. Google says the new feature, powered by Google’s Gemini AI model, will search images with more precision than keywords, using a single prompt. Ask Photos isn’t just about search: “If you need help putting together a trip highlight reel, Ask Photos can analyze your photos and suggest the best shots, maybe even write a caption for you,” adds DIY Photography.   Read the full Story >>

Tech News: Canon Announces Development of the EOS R1-the R System's First Flagship

Canon has announced it is developing the EOS R1, calling the camera the "first flagship model” for [the] EOS R system. “It would be consistent with the company's previous development cycles to deliver a pro sports flagship in time for the 2024 Summer Olympics, so it doesn't come as a complete surprise,” notes DP Review. Canon says the new camera will be built around a new CMOS sensor and that the camera will be capable of implementing sophisticated noise reduction that would currently need to be applied in PC-based software.   Read the full Story >>
