Tech News: The New MacBook Airs Can Support Dual Displays

The newest MacBook Air models come with M3 chips and can support two external displays when their lids are closed, notes The Verge. The 13- and 15-inch laptops are “up to 60 percent faster” than the M1 MacBook Air, according to Apple, which promises performance gains in photo and video editing apps. Both devices come with a Liquid Retina display and up to 500 nits of brightness. They also include an upgrade to Wi-Fi 6E, which adds support for the 6GHz band and faster download speeds. In Focus: Wildfires Rage in Texas

The wildfires that recently swept across  the Texas panhandle are the second-largest in U.S. history and the largest in Texas history, notes Time. The largest of the fires—which spans nearly 1.1 million acres—began at Smokehouse Creek and was 15 percent contained as of Sunday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. There’s more than restaurant ratings at Yelp, notes PetaPixel: With wedding season ramping up, the crowd-sourcing site has revealed its list of America’s top 100 wedding photographers in 2024. Yelp says that to compile its listing, a data team analyzed submissions, ratings, review volume, and community input. To ensure a level of geographic diversity, photography businesses in nearly every state — except Alaska and the Dakotas — made the list.
