DJI's newly released Osmo Pocket 3 — the latest iteration in its series of handheld gimbal cameras that are small enough to fit in your pocket — gets an updated camera with a larger Type 1 sensor, notes DP Review. The Osmo Pocket 3 also features a 2-inch rotatable screen that lets you easily turn the device on and switch between horizontal and vertical shooting. It can shoot up to 4K/120p high-speed footage and 9.4 MP still photos and maxes out at 4K resolution for video.

The Nature Conservancy Monday November 6, 2023
Tibor Litauszki of Hungary is the grand prize winner of the 2023 Nature Conservancy photo contest for his underwater image of a newt at night. “I was able to do it by putting my camera in an underwater case, attaching it to a metal weight,” he explains. “I waited nearby for it to be dark, and when the newt appeared, I lit it with an LED lamp.” This year’s contest brought in entries across 12 categories from more than 80,000 individual photographers in 191 different countries and territories, notes The Atlantic.

A Moscow court on November 3 sentenced Aleksandr Strukov, the former photographer of jailed opposition politician Aleksei Navalny’s team, to eight years in prison on charges of public calls for terrorism, inciting hatred, and violating citizens' rights to practice religion. The court, notes Radio Free Europe, also banned Strukov from administering websites for two years after his release from prison. The charges stem from Strukov's posts on Telegram criticizing President Vladimir Putin and his government.
