The only photo taken of Neil Armstrong on the moon is on sale with an estimate of $30,000. Until recently, it was thought no photos of Armstrong on the moon existed, notes Digital Camera World. Now, however, a rare 8 x 10 chromogenic color print showing Neil Armstrong packing samples of moon rocks, taken by his crew mate Buzz Aldrin, is up for sale at Bonhams. The auction runs through Dec. 1. Recently, a replica of a Leica camera used in the Skylabmissions fetched $500,000 at auction.

Thirty-two years after his AIDS-related death, the photographer Jimmy DeSana has been commemorated with the first museum exhibition devoted to what AnOther calls “his short-lived but dense career.” On view at the Brooklyn Museum through April 16, 2023, is the exhibition “Jimmy DeSana: Submissions,” featuring over 200 works, mainly photographs. “From his time photographing suburban landscapes in Atlanta, Georgia, to his role in the New York punk scenes, Jimmy DeSana conveyed the radical spirit of his era,” notes the museum.

As we noted recently, Instagram is rolling out scheduled posts for professional accounts on its platform. The new feature, which is being activated globally over the coming weeks, lets creators and businesses schedule an image, carousel or Reel up to 75 days in advance, offering greater control over how content is shared on the service, notes Digital Trends. But wait there’s more: IG now lets you “evoke emotion” by adding music to your posts. “Skeptics could say that it’s just yet another way that Instagram is trying to keep up with rival social media app TikTok which has used music right from the start,” notes DIY Photography.
