A Canadian wedding photographer has a novel approach for getting her clients to feel relaxed: She asks them to pretend to be “super drunk.” Myriam Ménard demonstrated her technique in a TikTok post, notes PetaPixel. The short clip took off and has garnered over 15 million views. “I truly want them to escape their mind,” she says of her clients. “Their bodies then tend to relax and in photography, this is wished for since the camera captures all the details, the energy of a posture, of a gesture.”   Read the full Story >>

Spotlight: Luo Yang Looks at China's "Brave and Free" Youth

For more than a decade, Shanghai-based photographer Luo Yang  has been documenting Chinese youth—drawn, she tells The Guardian, to recording emotions that rise up during adolescence. “They live bravely and authentically under the limits of traditional culture,” she tells the newspaper. Luo, who studied at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in China, created he acclaimed series “Girls” in 2019, which, she says, reflects the “shifting mindset” about femininity and identity in China.   Read the full Story >>
