Photojournalism: Covering Peru's Historic Flooding

An unusual bout of heavy rains powered by El Niño conditions have drenched parts of Peru with 10 times more rainfall than normal, causing rivers to overflow and mudslides to destroy roads and farms. Exhibition: Foto Feminas, a Platform for Female Photographers

Foto Féminas is a two-year-old online platform that promotes the work of female photographers in Latin America and the Caribbean. “The diffusion of photographic works, the inclusion of emerging photographers, the ratification of established photographers and the collaboration among photographers and photographic organizations are important points that we look forward to keep developing as a mission,” notes founder Verónica Sanchis Bencomo. Foto Féminas recently marked International Women’s Day with an exhibition of work by four Argentinian photographers — Lorena Marchetti, Jasmine Bakalarz, Lena Szankay; Lujan Agusti — at the Escuela Motivarte  in Buenos Aires.
