Animation Showcase: Jessica Ashman's "The Cycle"

By David Schonauer   Thursday December 19, 2013

Jessica Ashman’s stop-motion short The Cycle, made for an animation course at the Royal College of Art, looks at love and heartbreak from deep within the body. Inspired by the anatomical illustrations of Fritz Kahn, the film, a Vimeo staff select, shows graphically what love feels like, from head to heart and elsewhere within. “I wanted the world to look bold and bright, limiting myself to a palette of four colours and generally giving the film a 70′s, faux-educational feel, notes Ashman at DragonFrame.
