Glittering Prizes: Oscar Monzon Wins Paris Photo First PhotoBook Prize

Spanish photographer Óscar Monzón has won the $10,000 First PhotoBook prize, part of the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards, for his book Karma, notes the British Journal of Photography. The book features work Monzón created in Madrid between 2009 and 2013, in which he snapped telephoto images of people in their cars, breaking barriers between the public and the personal. The self-published book A01 [COD.] — A27 [S | COD.23],by Rosângela Rennó, was named PhotoBook of the Year. The book considers the theft of the material in 27 archival boxes housed in the General Archive of the City of in Rio de Janeiro, notes PDN Pulse.
