Friday Spotlight: Donate Prints to Spread the Magic of Photography

By David Schonauer   Friday July 19, 2013

Photographer and PPD reader Joni Kabana has helped organize a unique effort that promises to bring the magic of photography to people who’ve never experienced it: Called Prints for Prints, the project relies on donations of photographic prints from talented professionals; these are auctioned off, with all of the proceeds going towards the creation of makeshift studios in rural villages around the globe. The studios are used by local student photographers to create images that in turn are donated to people who have no photos of loved ones. Print donations help pay for paper, small mobile printers, and in-country transportation, among other things.
