Exhibition: Susannah Ray's "Wild Waves," After Sandy

By David Schonauer   Tuesday July 16, 2013

Following Hurricane Sandy, artist Susannah Ray, a resident of the hard-hit Rockaways neighborhood, teamed with WNYC public-radio producer Jen Poyant to document in photographs and audio the devastation of the storm, the individual lives affected, the recovery process, and the long-term effects on the lives of residents. The collaborative effort, titled “What are the Wild Waves Saying,” goes on view at New York City’s Bonni Benrubi Gallery from July 18-September 7. Poyant’s audio report will be broadcast this fall.
