In Focus: NYC Changes Policy for Getting Press Credentials

The NPPA reminds photojournalists working in New York City that the process for obtaining NYC press credentials has changed. As of January 20, the New York Police Department will no longer be handling press credentials. This duty was transferred to the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME). “Only MOME is authorized to issue, suspend, or revoke New York City press credentials. All Press Cards will expire on January 15 of every odd year and will need to be renewed,” noted the NPPA.
