Books: The Frontline Nurses of Covid-19

By David Schonauer   Tuesday November 24, 2020

Photographer Bruce Byers’s new book Frontline Nurses of Covid-19 captures the professional commitment and personal courage shown by the nurses of New York City’s Lennox Hill Hospital during the peak of the covid-19 outbreak. “When New York City erupted in cheers at 7:00 each night, I caught the nurses spontaneously on camera flooding out of the hospital during their shifts,” says Byers. “My intention was to photograph them as unique human beings swept into a global crisis.” A portion of proceeds will be donated to Covid Survivors for Change charity.
