In Focus: Magnum Signs 5 Photographer After Diversity Criticism

Magnum Photos has announced five new members to its roster, including three Americans of color, as well as the agency’s first female president. The news comes after the photography collective endured sustained criticism from voices throughout the photography world for a perceived lack of diversity among its membership in the wake of the global Black Lives Matter protests, notes The Art Newspaper. British documentary photographer Olivia Arthur was appointed president at Magnum’s 2020 annual general meeting.
