Portfolio: Satisfying Photos of Figurines Crashing

As civilized humans, we spend a great deal of time creating things and trying to make everything hold together. But there’s a corner inside us that likes to watch things crumble. German photographer Martin Klimas addresses that entropic urge with his series “Porcelain Figurines.” Using a high-speed camera, he captures the exact point at which figurines of warriors and dragons hit the ground and shatter. He tells My Modern Met that the images symbolize time made visible.
