By David Schonauer   Friday November 8, 2019

The shortlist for the 2020 Deutsche Börse photography prize includes everything from social documentary work to conceptual experimentation, notes The Guardian: The nominees are Mohamed Bourouissa for his multimedia installation “Free Trade,” about global capitalism; Anton Kusters for his exhibition “The Blue Skies Project,” which featured Polaroids of the skies over Nazi concentration camps; Mark Neville for his book Parade, a portrait of a small community in Brittany; and Clare Strand for “The Discrete Channel With Noise,” her contemporary take on a pioneering 1930s experiment that attempted to transmit images via telegraph. They will compete for the £30,000 prize.
