Insight: How Much Money Photographers Earn In Every State

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment in photography is projected to decline 6 percent from 2016 to 2026. Currently, the mean annual wage for photographers in the U.S. is $42,770, less than the current national mean annual wage of $51,960 for all occupations, notes Forbes, which breaks down how much money photographers earn in every state. Top: Massachusettes ($65,090). Bottom: North Carolina ($33,630).
