Honor Roll: Mark McKnight Wins 2019 Aperture Portfolio Prize

Photographer Mark McKnight has been selected as winner of the 2019 Aperture Portfolio Prize for his black-and-white images of bodies and landscapes, which, notes Aperture, “challenge Eurocentric ideas about male beauty—and aim to make “straight” photography a little less straight.” He receives $3,000 and an exhibition in New York. The finalists for this year’s prize, which was established to identify new trends and talents in photography, included Teresa Eng, Jack Latham, Zora J.
