Exhibitions: Highlighting Freedom and Diversity at Photoville

Now in its seventh year, the Photoville festival (through Sept. 23) is expected to draw more than 90,000 people, with some 90 exhibits and outdoor installations in Brooklyn Bridge Park featuring 600 artists, 50 talks, workshops, activities and tours. The New York Times highlights work from this year’s festival, which, it notes, features themes of “diversity, resilience, freedom of speech, and immigration.” Photographer Griselda San Martin’s “The Wall” series, for instance, focuses on families separated at border between San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico.
