Tech News: The Leica Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 Is a Bokeh Lover's $12,795 Dream

By David Schonauer   Wednesday December 6, 2017

Leica says its newly introduced Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 ASPH lens delivers a “hair-thin depth of focus” that “isolates subjects with extreme precision.” PetaPixel calls it a “bokeh lover’s dream” that comes with a $12,795 price tag. The lens, which features an 11-blade aperture, has a close-focusing distance of 0.85mm (~2.8 feet) and a reproduction ratio of 0.85mm. There’s also lens hood that can be extended or retracted by simply twisting the lens and a tripod adapter for mounting the lens onto a tripod. Availability: early 2018.
