Dept of Ideas : 3,000 Miles of Life, Told in Voicemails

By David Schonauer   Thursday October 12, 2017

On July 5th, 2016, filmmaker Sean Wang  moved across the country to work and live in New York City for one year. His short film 3,000 Miles tells the story of that year using a simple narrative device: Voicemails from his mother. The film is comprised entirely of footage that Yang shot with his Sony A7S II as he walked around the streets for NYC. He edited it himself in Premiere and After Effects. Short of the week calls the film “incredibly moving.”
