Art News: Cornell Adds Online Photos to Its Historical "Hip Hop Collection"

By David Schonauer   Wednesday September 13, 2017

The 50,000 photographs and objects in Cornell University’s Cornell Hip Hop Collection  trace the early years of hip hop culture — but until now you had to go to Ithica, New York, to view the on site at the institution. Recently, reports Hyperallergic, more than 1,700 images from the collection’s Adler Hip Hop Archive were released online. The Adler Archive came from music journalist and publicist Bill Adler, who was director of publicity at Def Jam Recordings from 1984 to 1990. It includes photographs, correspondence, news clippings, press packets, and other related items.
