MAP Spotlight: Meet Tim Linhart, Ice Music Maker

By David Schonauer   Thursday April 7, 2016

Tim Linhart was an ice sculptor in Colorado when he went to a mountaintop and carved his first ice musical instrument, an upright string bass. Enchanted by the sound it made, he embarked on a new life and became the founder of Ice Music, based in Luleå, Sweden, which produces  annual winter concerts. His story is told in a smart and charming short documentary from San Diego-based P2 Photography  as part of a film series called Buck the Cubicle, which focuses on people from various places around the world who participate in odd jobs or hobbies. Watch one of the shorts and you’ll want to watch them all.
