Indoctrination Process
With the growing hype around Cuba the world and more specific the American visual world has been bombarded with images from Cuba. This selection of images from the photo series "Chago Adentro: Revisiting my hometown's memories" is a collection of uncensored images shot in the city of Santiago de Cuba. This particular image shows a young girl in her middle school uniform (a Pionera, as Cuban Middle School students are called) in front of a wall of portraits of icons of the Cuban Revolution, most of them of Communist ideas and some other heroes of the Cuban island whose ideas are manipulated by the government. Most students in Cuba go through this process of indoctrination during their school years.
