Oasis
The trans community is one of the most marginalized populations in Colombia, a male dominated and chauvinist society. This is an ongoing series about a group of trans women who are currently living and recovering in the OASIS rehabilitation center in the downtown area of Bogota. Through the use of analog photography and medium format portraits I wanted to establish a trustworthy relationship with these women so they could feel safe and confident enough to be vulnerable and display their true self. These photographs are an exploration into their lives and the circumstances that led to where they are now.
