Xolotl, The Soul Companion
Xolotl, The Soul Companion. 06/2015. This is an homage to the Xoloitzcuintli, Mexico's national dog, named after the god Xolotl.
In Aztec mythology, Xolotl guides Quetzalcoatl into the underworld at sunset. Earthly dogs were gifted to mankind as guardians of the souls, which they lead to their ultimate destination, Mictlan.
